Convention on Human Rights... Journey to the land of "Beautiful City"

11th - 14th Aug, Chandigarh India. When i was asked by an Officer from JBS to represent Brunei Darussalam to attend CYP Workshop pertaining to young people, i felt both privileged and challenged. It has been wonderful for me to with an extraordinary group of exceptionally astute, informed and far-seeing individuals drawn from many different countries of the Commonwealth, bringing a huge wealth of experience and insight to our meetings and interactions.
To explore initiatives to promote mutual understanding and respect throughout Commonwealth. The importance of understanding and respect lies partly in their intrinsic value - indeed they indispensable parts of good living in peace and harmony with each other, but it also lies in their contribution to restraining and removing the group-base violence and terrorism that have become such pernicious features of the contemporary world.

CIVIL PATHS TO PEACE contains the analysis and findings of the Commonwealth Commission on Respect and Understanding, established in response to the 2005 request of Commonwealth Heads of Government for the Commonwealth Secretary-General to 'explore initiatives to promote mutual understanding and respect among all faiths and communities in the commonwealth.
