4. Observe any child who is below five years old and describe their behavior/personality with references to theories of personality that you are familiar with (Freud, Erikson, Carl Yung, Adler, Maslow , Cattell, Skinner etc.).Marks 10% The length of the paper should be about 2-3 typewritten pages (A4 paper, margin 1.5” and font 12 Times New Roman).

Times New Roman). Topic: An in-depth case study of an adolescent.
Use the following as guideline:
a) The subject of this project must be a adolescent/youth between the ages of 12-20.
b) Methods used for data collection: interview, observation and any appropriate techniques.
c) Interview the subject and try to understand his/her perception to the following areas of his life:
i. Ask the subject to describe and relate his/her life history and relationships – family background, financial status, perception of his/her childhood, pre-school, primary school and secondary school etc. (positive events and negative events, happy and unhappy events etc.).
ii. His/her current perception of his life, relationship with family, friends, and siblings. Perception of school, educational achievements, failures/success, ambitions, leisure, conflicts, problems and challenges.
iii. Who are the significant people who have influenced him/her in their personality development. How did they influence?
iv. His/her perception of future opportunities, life ahead and what he/she has planned for the future. What is their perception regarding what should be done and who should help them to improve their life etc.
d) Conclude by giving your summary and your understanding of the personality profile of the subject based on his past, present and future perceptions of his life. Try to relate the personality development and personality type of this subject with the theories of personality that you have learned in this module.
