MIB to Shape Brunei’s Youth into Excellence

To ensure that the challenges from outside the country, around the region and from the international stage could bring positive effects to the country, the authorities responsible for the youth development, families, the community, the government and the youth themselves should bear their respective responsibilities. This is refers in particular to the responsibility to cooperate for the overall development of the youth in the country.

This was said by the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport while delivering a keynote address entitled National Youth Policy” at the National Youth Conference. Awang Haji Jemat said in the National Youth Policy, the objective is to produce excellent Bruneian youth by instilling strong beliefs and values in line with the country’s constitution and philosophy, the “Malay Islamic Monarchy”.

He said 45 percent the country’s population are youth aged 15 to 40 years old. Their presence in the community should be given serious attention especially in planning the country socio-economy and political stance.
