For the module 11 on Promoting Enterprise and Economic Development, the CYP trainee are requested to present 4-5 minutes our ideas on business incentive that could be successful in our local community.
And for this session, i relate my experience as a member of Brunei Darussalam Scout Association to be shared to others on business incentive that i think will be successful in our community. The excerpt of my presentation as follows:
Ladies and gentleman
Assalamualaikum and Good Afternoon.
The business incentive that could be succesful in our local community based on my own experience that i can share to you all is our National Scout Association initiative to organise a web development course for our member throughout the country.
Our goal is to equip young people so they can take control of their own lives and create sustainable and healthy moneymaking options. This will help to reduce poverty and raise living standards in their communities.
It will also promote a culture of hope and self-sufficiency in communities that are not used to having choices or control over their destiny.
Brunei Darussalam is using information and communication technologies as a mechanism to bridge the digital divide so that young people have access to ICT irrespective of where they live or their socio-economic status. Improving young people's ICT skills is also another way to reduce poverty and enhance their marketability and employability.
The training is fully-sponsored by the Scout Foundation to ensure that young people have access to the skills and opportunities they require to be articulate productives and informed citizens and contribute to progress in their own lives and communities.
The infrastructure that includes 15 sets of Computer equiped with multimedia and internet networking were provided by the Scout Foundation.
The content of the course includes how to design an attractive, informative and informative website. The training was conducted by the capable Scout Leaders with incentive given from the Scout Foundation.
To those participants from Tutong, Belait and Temburong District were accommodated at the Scout's Hostel and food were provided.
The course held at the Scout HQ every Friday morning and Sunday afternoon and 15 students in each course..
By providing the course, the participants will gain valuable skills, boosting the employability and self-confidence.
At the end of the course, certificates will be presented to the participants and an award will be given to most informative, attractive and interactive websites.
As a conclusion, our association recognise the contributuion of young people in enhancing the quality o life at community and grass roots level. Thank you.
